Troy Eric Gunning passed away unexpectedly on Friday November 23rd, 2018 at the age of 51. He was born November 16, 1967, in Battle Creek, MI, to Timothy and Patricia Gunning. He graduated from Harper Creek High School in 1985. Troy joined the U.S Navy in 1990, during desert storm, where he served four years active duty. Troy was stationed in Norfolk Virginia, received a national defense service metal and first good conduct award. He was part of the Auxiliary security force and specialized in reprogramming F-14 radar units. After his 3 years in the reserves, he attended ITT Technical Institute, earning an Associate’s Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology. Troy began his civilian career as an electronics technician in Battle Creek for over 25 years. He was a very hardworking man and always provided for his family. He was most recently employed at Ralston Foods and was loyal to them for over 10 years. Thank you to all the workers who kept cereal on the table and were a friend to our dad while he worked long and odd hours at Post cereal and Ralston foods for many years. You all were his second family and kept work fun.

He was and still is the father to Sarah Nicole Gunning, 30; Alyssa Kaye Belland, 26; and Trey Weston Gunning, 22; The PaPa of Joysa, 4; Aivah, 3; Ziah, 2; His 1st grandson and 4th granddaughter due within the month. Thanks to him and Michelle 8 lives have been brought to the world. Troy spent his down time traveling the world with his most recent trip to the Philippines and Thailand.
