Obituary for Annette Louise Reed (Mallen)

Annette Louise  Reed (Mallen)
Annette Louise (Mallen) Reed, was born March 15, 1945, in Oujda, Morocco during WWII to Derrick (Royal Air Force) and Louise (Tocqueville) Mallen. She passed away peacefully at age 75 on July 29, 2018 at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids surrounded by family and friends.

She met her husband Lewis Reed in Metz, France in 1964 while he served in the U.S. Air Force. They were married shortly after on July 16, 1966 in Lansing, MI. They were very happily married for 52 years and 2 weeks. They were baptized into the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Lansing in 1972 and have been members of the Urbandale Seventh Day Adventist Church since 1975.

Annette worked as a supervisor in the food service for 16 years at Battle Creek Sanitarium Hospital. At age 49, she went back to college and obtained her LPN license and worked as a nurse for 9 years before retiring. She enjoyed flower gardening, reading, sewing, French pastry, her fur babies, traveling with family, Mackinaw Bridge and being anywhere north of Clare in Michigan. She loved her faith in Jesus, her husband, family and friends.

She is survived by her Husband, Lewis Reed; Daughters, Laura (Reed)Vanorsdal, Rebekah Reed; Grandsons, Austin Reed and Jacob Reed; Sister, Elizabeth (Royce) Miller; Niece Debbie (Dave) Farnham; Nephew, James (Serena) Miller and a Brother Jean Cera and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents and brother Jean Claude.

Memorial tributes may be made to Battle Creek Academy (worthy student fund).

Memorial Services will be held Sunday, August 5th, 2018 at 1 pm at the Urbandale Seventh Day Adventist Church, 20440 N Bedford Rd, followed by a light meal in the Fellowship Hall at the church.
