Darrell A. Rheynard, 89, of Ceresco, Michigan, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018, very peacefully at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. He was born in Battle Creek on November 1, 1928, to Charles and Vera (Smith) Rheynard.
Darrell graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1947. He completed college thru correspondent classes. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army and later worked for Kellogg Co. as an engineer for 34 years until his retirement and was also a member of the 25 year club. Darrell was a lifetime member of the DAV.
Darrell is was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Lloyd, Joseph, Rolland, and Kenneth; sisters Doris and Ruth; his former wife, Connie, and his son, Kyle. He is survived by his Wife, Martha Rheynard, stepchildren, David, Mary (Tim), and Joan (Paul); six Grandchildren, three and a half Great-Grandchildren.
Darrell enjoyed hunting, fishing, especially fly fishing, and camping. He was a person of many talents and if he couldn't fix something it was broke beyond repair. He spent the last year and a half at the VA Dementia Center where he received excellent care from the staff there.
A visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at 3:00 pm followed immediately by a service at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Kingery Clingenpeel of Battle Creek First Christian Church officiating.
Interment will take place at a later date.
