Marian Jean Wallace, 74, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at University of Michigan Health Systems. She was born on May 28, 1944, the daughter of Paul Marion Payne and Carrie Mae (Reece) Payne. Marian graduated in 1959 and attended nursing school. She completed her internship in Kalamazoo and was a Licensed Practitioner Nurse for over 30 years, with many years spent caring for those in the ICU. She married Wesley Wallace on June 15, 1968, a union that provided 34 years of love and memories. Marian was a very caring woman and that showed in her passion for helping people. She was a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church for many years and continued her faith at Christ Lutheran Church in Marshall. Marian is survived by her two Sons, Trent (Jessica) Wallace, Scott (Scott Murphy) Wallace; her Brother, Rolland "Tuck" Payne, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sisters, Shirley Dykus, Betty Morris, Della Payne; Brothers, Raymond Payne, William Payne, Lawrence Payne, Glenn Payne, Paul "Peanut" Payne, and her Husband, Wesley Herman Wallace. Marian enjoyed playing dominoes every Tuesday night, line dancing, and being with her family and friends. She loved to bake but cookies were her specialty. Her warm heart and kind spirit will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind.
