Alwilda Clare Burns-Latta, 88, of Battle Creek - Jackson, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at home. She was born on December 15, 1929, the daughter of Harry Hector Waldo and Theda C. (Micksell) Waldo.
Clare will be remembered fondly by her family. In her early years, she loved to dance and roller skate. We cherish the memories we have of her seamstress skills and watching her complete needle point that she loved so much. She enjoyed her many years of retirement living in Florida before returning to Michigan to live with family. She will be loved, missed, and remembered.
Alwilda is survived by her Sister, Una May, Four Daughters, Linda Marie Vernia of Jackson, Cindy Louise Paul of Quincy, Sharlee Rae (Mike) Adkins of Albion, Pamela Clare Miller of Battle Creek, 12 Grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Father, Harry Hector Waldo, Mother, Theda C. Waldo, Late Husbands, Charles Ray Latta and Lamoin G. Burns, Sisters, Faith and Garnett and Brother, Roy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Area Agency and Aging of Battle Creek or Jackson or Great Lakes Caring Hospice of Jackson, MI.
Internment will take place at Reese Cemetery on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 10:30 am.
