Donna Liesen (Shaffer)
Donna June Liesen, 51, of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Bronson Battle Creek. She was born on November 16, 1966, the daughter of Ottis Ray Shaffer and Buela Ann (King) Shaffer.
Donna graduated from Nichols County High School. She joined the United States Army after high school and met her husband while she served faithfully. She received her Associates Degree in landscape design and had recently acquired her license to sell insurance in the state of Michigan. Her and her family faithfully attended Dexter Lake Church of God. She was the Lakeview band mom, she loved the kids and participating with making sure all had food and everything they needed. She helped with every band occasion from Band camp to game nights.
Donna is survived by her Husband of 31 years - Charles John Liesen II; Two Daughters, Kaye (Justin) Shuman, and Sara Liesen; Son, Marshal Liesen; Grandchildren, Oliva, Victoria, and Sophia Shuman; Two Brothers, Danny (Paulette) Shaffer, and David (Kim) Shaffer; Sister, Jeannie (Larry) Favors and a host of other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Donna enjoyed quilting and crafting all types of things. She loved spending time with her family and participating in her kids special events. Donna was a very special woman with a heart of gold and many young people of Battle Creek looked at her like a second mother.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Tuesday February 13, 2018 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm followed by a funeral service at 12:00 noon with Pastor Blaine Faircloth of Dexter Lake Church officiating.
Interment will take place in the Fort Custer National Cemetery.
